a prayer for the future, for now
I believe,
God,
that following you today
will get us there tomorrow
(even if we don’t know where that is,
exactly)
give us courage to keep stepping forward
show us the right ways to walk
for this day
grow us in the ways we need
to be ready for the days to come
and
remind us
(even as we try, can’t help trying,
to look ahead)
to be fully present
